This week i have been looking at how i can best present my artifact at the showcase.
The method i have chosen to do is to present my main artifact on the wall with supported pictures of the process along with simplified versions so that the audience can understand the main pieces of work better. as another aid i will try to do a physical version of the diagram so that the audience can look at a actual guitar wiring.
I have also looked at a good way to structure my report. The report would be a minimum of 1500 words and will contain my findings, analysis and the evaluation.
The aim for the next 2 weeks will be to create a draft of the report.

developing an argument
this week i have been looking at how to develop an argument based on my reserch and findings.
looking at this developed into ethics, looking at if somthing can be done, should it be done. also loking at how effective an argument is.

reaserch reliability
Today I have looked into how to tell how reliable sourced information would be.
This would consist of determining whether the information is primary of secondary.
Primary- written by someone who knows first hand about the subject. e.g. autobiography
Secondary- written by someone who collated the information into one format. e.g. history of ......
The second thing to look at would be to look at whether the information was fact, opinion or speculation.
Fact- hard evidence e.g. experiment findings
Opinion- a statement based on what someone thinks. e.g. I prefer the sound of .........
Speculation- a personal conclusion based on facts. e.g. a theory
A good way to find out how reliable the research is for this is the 5 W's.
the 5 W's stand for:
WHAT happened?
WHO was involved?
WHEN did it happen?
WHERE did it happen?
WHY did it happen?
By using all of these processes I have been able to find a reliable source of information about how a guitar pick up works. Although this is reliable it is secondary source of information and it has no proof of where this person has found his evidence from, for this reason I will look for other samples of research on this topic.

Initial planning of project
The main aim of the project will be to produce an artifact. This artifact will be the proof and final product of my research project.
I have been looking into areas where my interests lie. One such interest which came to mind was a project i am already carrying out. this is the creation/building of my guitar. This had a few areas with in the creation that I could address.
The area's are:
Guitar body and neck,
Guitar hardware,
Guitar paint and finish
Guitar electronics and wiring.
The part witch interest me the most is the electronic side. In order to turn this area into an artifact I could create the electronic wiring a a physical product or to draw up schematics of the wiring possibilities. A good way would be to research the current wiring of guitars and apply elements to some of my own ideas in order to create a custom wiring for my guitar.
